Why This Campaign Will Be Positive

There is always a temptation in elections to focus on opponents.

To criticise.
To respond.
To escalate.

I’m not going to do that.

This area deserves better than personality politics.

Over the coming months, I’m making a clear commitment:

I will not say anything negative about other candidates.

Not because I don’t disagree with people.
Not because I won’t challenge decisions.

But because this campaign should be about:

• What needs fixing
• How we improve services
• How we protect quality of life
• How we prepare properly for the move to a new unitary authority

Essex County Council is entering the most important term in its history before abolition and transition.

This is not the moment for ego battles.

It is the moment for:

• Competence
• Evidence
• Practical solutions
• Calm persistence

I will criticise systems where they fail.

I will challenge decisions where they are wrong.

But I won’t make this about personalities, even if some others already have started attacking me.

If you’re looking for drama, I’m probably not your candidate.

If you’re looking for someone who wants to fix the basics properly and methodically, and stand up for the area, that’s exactly what I’m here to do.

Listening comes first.
Delivery comes second.
Noise comes nowhere.

Fix. The. Basics. Stand up for the area.
